The Department of Business Administration and Information Technology has 2,547 full-time undergraduate and junior college students, which is the largest department in the College of Thermal Engineering. The department will actively integrate into the national new agricultural research and innovation strategy, adhere to the "service-oriented, employment-oriented, school-enterprise cooperation, industry-academia combination" policy, relying on the hot zone, facing the whole country, radiating Southeast Asia, actively adapt to the new requirements of the new economy and new industry in Yunnan Province on the cultivation of talents in colleges and universities, effectively promote industry-academia-research At the same time, it will increase the cultivation of modern core competencies such as Internet of Things, information processing, data analysis, supply chain management and precise marketing, cultivate compound application-oriented innovative talents in the fields of agricultural Internet of Things, agricultural big data, supply chain management, e-commerce and smart agriculture, and provide information technology and management and marketing talents for regional social and economic development.
There are 51 faculty members, including 2 professors, 7 associate professors, 34 lecturers, 8 assistant professors, and more than 80% of them have master's degree or above. There are many professional training rooms on campus, such as accounting simulation training room, sand table simulation training room, e-commerce training room, logistics training room, network training room, computer maintenance and repair training room, graphics training room, etc. Off campus, the university has signed internship training base agreements with many logistics companies, e-commerce companies and border trade companies both inside and outside the province to help students' internship and employment, and the employment rate of graduates at the end of the year is over 90%. In the past three years, the university has been awarded vertical projects: the "Cloud Science and Technology Department" project, 5 scientific research projects at the department level, 1 scientific research project at the university level, and 20 scientific research projects at the college level. In the past three years, the university has won 20 scientific research projects, including the research project of product quality and safety traceability system in Pu'er City, the 13th Five-Year Plan of E-commerce Development in Pu'er City, and the feasibility study of E-commerce in rural areas in Jingdong Yi Autonomous County.
There are five applied undergraduate majors in agriculture and forestry economic management, e-commerce, network engineering, economics, computer science and technology, and five specialized majors in accounting, international economics and trade, logistics management, marketing, and computer network technology. The department cooperates with Lincoln University in New Zealand to hold exchange programs for Chinese and international students in two majors (accounting and international economics and trade), and students can obtain a college diploma from Yunnan Agricultural University and a master's degree from Lincoln University in New Zealand through domestic and foreign studies. The department attaches importance to students' professional skills enhancement and innovation and entrepreneurship training. In the past three years, students have declared more than 500 innovation and entrepreneurship and skills training projects, won 70 projects and awards (including 44 above provincial level) in innovation and entrepreneurship and skills competitions above prefectural and provincial level and won the first prize in an e-commerce skills competition in Yunnan Province colleges and universities in 2017, 2018 and 2020.
