热带作物与食品工程系办学历史可溯源到1960年，立足滇南热区，面向南亚东南亚，服务国家“一带一路”和乡村振兴战略为宗旨，围绕丰富独特的热带植物资源，矢志不移地开展科技创新、人才培养与社会服务工作。

The history of the Department of Tropical Crops and Food Engineering can be traced back to 1960, based on the hot area of southern Yunnan, facing South and Southeast Asia, serving the national "the Belt and Road" and rural revitalization strategy for the purpose, around the rich and unique tropical plant resources, set up a voluntary and never change to carry out scientific and technological innovation, talent training and social service work.

截止目前，我系拥有林业专业硕士点1个，林学、农学、食品科学与工程、中草药栽培与鉴定、园艺、茶学等6个本科专业，林业技术、作物生产与经营管理、食品检测技术、中草药栽培与加工技术、园艺技术、茶树栽培与茶叶加工、茶艺与茶叶营销等7个专科专业。

Up to now, our department has one master's degree point in forestry, six undergraduate majors in forestry, agronomy, food science and engineering, herbal cultivation and identification, horticulture and tea science, and seven specialist majors in forestry technology, crop production, and management, food testing technology, herbal cultivation and processing technology, horticulture technology, tea cultivation and tea processing, tea art, and tea marketing, etc.

系部有专职教师48人，党员25人，教授6人、副教授18人，硕士生导师4人，云南省“绿色食品牌”重点产业咖啡产业工作组专家1人，云南省咖啡产业技术体系咖啡加工技术岗位专家1人，云南省高原特色现代农业专家顾问团顾问1人，云南省教学名师2人，云南省科技特派员20余人。

The department has 48 full-time teachers, 25 party members, 6 professors, 18 associate professors, 4 master supervisors, 1 expert of coffee industry working group of key industry of "green food brand" in Yunnan Province, 1 expert of coffee processing technology post of coffee industry technology system in Yunnan Province, 1 consultant of modern agriculture expert advisory group of highland specialties in Yunnan Province. There are 2 famous teachers in Yunnan Province and more than 20 science and technology experts in Yunnan Province.

现拥有国家天然橡胶产业技术体系普洱综合试验站、国家质量监督局-咖啡质量基础与产业服务创新中心等两个国家级平台，云南省高校咖啡资源开发与利用工程研究中心、云南省高校天然橡胶绿色生产工程研究中心、面向南亚东南亚咖啡工程技术研发辐射中心等三个省级科研平台。近五年，承担省级以上科研项目20余项，发表论文50余篇，申请专利近30项，科研经费近1000万元，荣获云南省科技进步三等奖1项，海南省科技进步二等奖1项，2018年云南省农业主推技术1项。

Now it has two national platforms, such as Pu'er Comprehensive Experiment Station of National Natural Rubber Industry Technology System and AQSIQ-Coffee Quality Foundation and Industry Service Innovation Center, and three provincial research platforms, such as Yunnan Provincial University Coffee Resource Development and Utilization Engineering Research Center, Yunnan Provincial University Natural Rubber Green Production Engineering Research Center, and Southeast Asia Coffee Engineering Technology R&D Radiation Center for South Asia. In the past five years, it has undertaken more than 20 scientific research projects at the provincial level, published more than 50 papers, applied for nearly 30 patents, and spent nearly 10 million yuan on scientific research, winning one-third prize of scientific and technological progress in Yunnan Province, one-second prize of scientific and technological progress in Hainan Province, and one main push technology of agriculture in Yunnan Province in 2018.

近三年，出版“国家十三五规划教材”4本，开发录制线上公开课1门，荣获云南省优秀教学团队3个，云南省教育教学成果二等奖1项，校级教学成果二等奖1项，校级优秀黄大年式教学团队1个。

In the past three years, it has published four "National 13th Five-Year Plan Textbooks", developed and recorded one online public course, won three excellent teaching teams in Yunnan Province, the one-second prize of educational teaching achievements in Yunnan Province, the one-second prize of teaching achievements at the university level, and one excellent Huang Danian-style teaching team at the university level.

目前在校学生人数2292人，党员60人，近三年，荣获国家奖学金5人，校级“挑战杯”学生课外学术科技作品竞赛二等奖1项，学生科技创新创业行动基金校级立项200余项，省级及以上创新创业训练计划立项近10项，云南省“互联网+”大学生创新创业大赛铜奖及以上2项，校级优秀暑期社会实践团队2次。学生每年发表学术期刊论文10余篇，申请专利近10项。近三年，平均就业落实率超过95%，升学率超50%。

In the past three years, 5 students have won national scholarships, 1 second prize in the "Challenge Cup" extracurricular academic science and technology competition, more than 200 projects of the Student Science and Technology Innovation and Entrepreneurship Action Fund, nearly 10 projects of provincial-level and above innovation and entrepreneurship training programs, 2 bronze prizes and above in the Yunnan Province "Internet+" student innovation and entrepreneurship competition bronze award and above 2, school-level excellent summer social practice team 2 times. Students publish more than 10 academic journal papers and apply for nearly 10 patents every year. In the past three years, the average employment implementation rate is over 95%, and the rate of further education is over 50%.
